| Hello Everyone!!!!!!! Guess what? It's my birthday!!!!!!! HAPPY BDAY TO ME!!!!! LOL. It was weird because at midnight I was already being sung to, and then at church I was sung to again by fellow teammates and chinese students, and i'm getting presents from people I've hardly known, and students are emailing me birthday cards!!! This is such a cool birthday! AND the fact that its NOT over for a while is pretty stinking cool!!!!!!! I'll be on 2 different continents for my birthday!!!!! HOW COOL IS THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!
OH, And get this.......All my life I've asked people their birthdays hoping to find someone who shares mine. NO such finding all my life. Not even someone who knows someone who had my birthday. Well, when we were still in California for training, we did this exercise where we picked the character from Wizard of Oz that best described us. I picked Toto (for reasons i'll reveal later) and only one other person picked Toto, a girl named Jessica. Well, we started this thing just calling each other Toto, cuz we were the only 2! Well, Yesterday I found out that she and I share the same bday!!!!!! HOW COOL IS THAT!?!?!?!??!?!!?!?! Never happened to me before, finding someone i share my bday with!!!!! Super cool. We're Toto, August 7 Toto! This is EXcITiNG!!!!!
Well, gang, This is my last post from Hong Kong. I hope to see many people really soon! I'm so eager to catch up and share what's been going on with me here! I hope you all taste and see the Lord is GOOD! Love to all, BECAUSE HE LIVES, Rebecca (I'm 22 today!!!!! )
| Hello Friends and Familia!!!!! Can you believe that my time is so short in Hong Kong? I cannot! I'm so surprised that Friday is over with! It all happened so fast!!!! I have a little more than 48 hours in Hong Kong, and i feel as if i didn't see enough of the place! It's amazing, and I'm experiencing a bit of anxiety over having to get reaccustomed to life in the U.S! I think that's so weird! But that's what they say will happen to me! So, the day after tomorrow is my birthday and I'll spend it, or parts of it, on 2 different continents. One part here and about two hours in North America, in LA! One thing I'm going to have to get used to is the referencing of Arkansas over North America. For four weeks, I've said, "yes, I'm from North America" Now I get to go back to being from Arkansas, and even better Benton. I'm excited, I"M EXCITED!!!!! The next week is going to change my life sooooo much!!!!!!! Oh, boy, this is probably my next to last post whilst I'm in Asia! I've had a great time, but I am ready to be home! Must go for now, busy Saturday ahead of me! Later all, rebecca | | |
| Nei Ho People! (Hello, People!) How are you today? I'm swell! It's Thursday at lunch time, and I had a few minutos to write something new and exciting from my Hong Kong experience! I went with my roommate to the hospital last night. She has been suffering from a host of problems and has been on medication for almost a week and suddenly her tongue, throat, and mouth were swelling. The doctors told her that it was a reaction to the meds she was on. They gave her additional medicine, took her off some of the other stuff and sent us on our way. It's the poor girl's 3 hospital visit since being in Hong Kong! Remember her in prayer. She's ready to come home and see an American doctor! :)
Well, I cannot believe that my 4 weeks are nearly up! So crazy how fast they've flown! I was telling my students today that tomorrow is the last day of English Camp, and I asked them if they'd had any fun. One boy spoke up and said, "I not have any fun". I asked them if the day before had been fun. On wednesday, we had a water war with games using water balloons in any way we could! It was so much fun. So, the kids talked about that. And they listened as I told them who I'd soaked and they were unbelievably attentive to me then. (I was drenched from head to toe, by the end of the afternoon!) It was great. But they all said they'd had fun on Wednesday, and so I concluded with the fact that everyone had fun, even if just a little bitty bit. So they could say that English Camp had been fun. One thing I'd ask you to remember is my team. Even though we have at the most 4 days left together, we're going through things and dealing with unity even now. I see most of this disharmony as a lack of communication over an issue that can be resolved, but is not being resolved. I would share more, but its complicated. Please remember us!
I have some precious kids in my class, as we all do in each class! Pray for boldness and encouragement for our students who are believers! God is good all the time! I love that!
Oh, and tonight is going to be awesome! I'm getting to go to a Hillsong concert with another teammember and students!!!! It's in English and Cantonese and its FREE!!!!!! Cool huh? Well, i must go for now, Love to all! Because He Lives, rebecca
